Mr. Kanti K. Poddar
Mr. Kanti Poddar is the CMD of Orient Express Limited which was established on 26th September 1947 and has celebrated its Golden Jubilee with the nation. It is the oldest Indian Travel Agency and its role in the creation & promotion of Tourism Infrastructure of this country has been widely acclaimed. He spent 4½ years in Europe & United States where he studied Hotel and Tourism Management from Austria after which he worked as Management Trainee with Hilton Hotels in Beverly Hills and Honolulu, Intercontinental in Paris and hotels in Germany and Austria. He speaks French and German.

He has been President of ASTA India Chapter from 1989 to 1993, President SKAL CLUB of Delhi from 1988 to 1990, is the past Chairman of Tour Operators Council of Travel Agents Association of India and also the past Chairman of its Northern Region from 1988 - 1991.

Orient Express Co's involvement in the establishment of the Tourism destinations of Khajuraho and Shekhavati is well known & well aclaimed. Mr.Poddar was involved from scratch with the company's Five Star Deluxe Hotel Chandela Project at Khajuraho which was a Pioneering Venture. The Hotel is now being managed by the Taj Group of Hotels. His Company has won many National and International Awards for its role in the "Resurrection of Khajuraho". In the year 2003 he was honoured by the King of Belgium, his Majesty "Majeste Le Roi Albert II" for his Company's more than 50 years of continued business relationship with Belgium.
